Michael Mathieu imageMichael Mathieu was previously the president of Freedom Interactive, the internet division at Freedom Communications, whose portfolio includes the Orange County Register, Colorado Gazette, and many other newspapers and broadcast stations across the nation.  Prior to that, Michael was SVP for United Online, where he oversaw all aspects of the startup and the explosive growth into what is now a $65 million advertising company.

As some of you may know, my “day job” is that of Director of Search for Freedom Interactive.  Up to a few weeks ago, Michael was my boss ;-)    We all know how exciting online video is and so I congratulate Michael on this incredible opportunity, at an incredible time.  I will say that the folks at YUME are in for a wonderful treat.  Michael is an incredible leader who is passionate, intelligent, and most of all, incredibly personable.

“This is a great opportunity to lead a business like YuMe that has already achieved such rapid growth and is now poised on the cusp of the coming explosion in video consumption and the proliferation of online video ad opportunities,” Mathieu said. “We have an outstanding management team in place and I look forward to working with all of them to drive global growth for the company in the coming years.”
