According to the latest stats released by web metrics firm, Nielsen Online, YouTube has overtaken Wikipedia as the most popular Social Media site in the UKIf a picture is worth a thousand words then a two-minute video clip on YouTube is worth more than a profile on an online, user generated encyclopedia, it seems.
YouTube currently attracts 10,426 million unique visitors in the UK, growing its audience by 56% compared to January 2007 figures.
Other big movers are Slide, social networking add-on tool and video sharing site, Veoh, which both grew 207% and 595% respectively.
A strong showing by video sites in Neilsen Online’s latest stats indicates that online video is still very much in the ascendancy.
Never mind ’social media’, the future appears to be in Social Video.
