If you are a non-profit organization who made a video in 2012, you can enter YouTube's 4th annual DoGooder Video Awards. Teaming with See3 Communications and Nonprofit Technology Network, YouTube is looking for videos in four different categories and will be awarding some pretty cool prizes. We've seen a lot of amazing non-profit videos in the past year, just a couple of months ago we covered Visible Measures' Top 10 Charity video campaigns, and it looks like non-profits are definitely "with it" when it comes to making videos people want to watch, just like "for-profits" do.
The YouTube DoGooders Video Awards 2013
For the first time, the contest will be open for individuals who create videos to better their communities and/or world. That means you don't have to be an organization, but just someone who happens to make videos to try to improve your world. Here's a video for the contest:
There are four separate categories in which these non-profit videos will be judged:
- ImpactX: for videos that drove clear world impact.
- Best Non-Profit Video: I'd say that's self-explanatory.
- Funny for Good: the ability to use comedy to get your message across.
- Change Agent Award: for individuals who got involved/produced their own message video.
You get a shot at $3,500 grants, free admission to the Nonprofit Technology Conference, and special promotion on YouTube.
Submissions are open right now and end on March 22.
