YouTube For Developers have just announced that they are increasing Data API limits, which are used to control how many videos app developers can upload after enabling functionality on their own software, 10 fold from 5 million units per day to 50 million. Alongside this boost, app developers will now be able to upload around 100 times more videos per day as YouTube have reduced the cost from 16,000 units to just 1,600.
The YouTube Data API allows developers to incorporate the site's functionality into their own applications including the ability to fetch search results and to insert, modify, and delete resources like videos or video playlists.
YouTube obviously hope this will encourage more coders and development teams to sign up to the service and create innovate apps. H/T to Techcrunch for the heads up.
