YouTube App For iOS Gets Live Streaming, One Channel Layout

YouTube App For iOS Gets Live Streaming, One Channel Layout

Although it was released just hours after the last act left the Coachella stage at the end of the first weekend, new upgrades to the YouTube app for the iPhone and the iPad finally bring us the much awaited ability to watch live stream videos on our Apple devices. Yay! The version 1.3 update also allows video creator channels to access the 'One Channel' layout and gives us all speedier access to new uploaded videos from those channels we have subscribed to. I had a little play around with it this morning and it's definitely more user friendly, especially the My Subscriptions section.

The full list of updates with version 1.3 are:

  • Quicker access to new video uploads via “My Subscriptions” feed on the Guide
  • Access to Live streams
  • Ability to queue up videos to play on Connected TV
  • One Channel branding for video creator channels
  • Stability and performance improvements

The free update is available now via iTunes.
