If you have an Xbox 360 and are in the Xbox Live preview program, you can now be a beta participant in YouTube's new app for the console. Coming days after Microsoft introduced a new dashboard for the service, Xbox 360 officially becomes yet another place where you can watch YouTube, which is good news for the world's dominant video site because as we covered a month or so ago, gaming consoles are the main source for watching online video on TV. The new service will also be able to be controlled through Kinect.
YouTube Now On All Three Major Consoles
YouTube has been on Nintendo's Wii and Sony's Playstation 3 for a couple of years now. Probably the biggest problem with putting on Xbox 360 at the time was the fact that the console has no browser. But now with an application specifically built for the console using the system's Metro programming language and interface, Xbox 360 now joins the club. Just for some users, though, and unfortunately Microsoft isn't taking any more applications for the preview program. But it's only a matter of time before everyone with the console can start watching YouTube on their TVs.
