Although 60% of YouTube's in-stream ads are skippable, some of the very best are so captivating that users will stick around for the entire commercial. The brand new January 2013 YouTube Ads Leaderboard lists those ads that attracted the most views in terms of "promotion (paid ads) and popularity (organic views)" for last month - as long as they were uploaded from a US location. No real surprises here, particularly the fact that half of the ads are pre-releases for the February Super Bowl. We'll be very surprised if Super Bowl ads don't completely dominate the next set of figures based on this months user activity.
