Yahoo Video Improves Video Quality - 700kpbs
According to Yahoo, they are now transcoding videos from user uploads to 700kpbs. Previously they were transcoding at only 300kpbs. This comes shortly after Youtube started offering higher quality and other video sharing sites like Dailymotion announced support for HD video. Again, this was one of our online video predictions for 2008. I expect that many more video platforms will announce higher quality video support and many will release HD video content throughout the year.

The change on Yahoo is obviously for new videos that are uploaded as videos uploaded previously can not be re-encoded and clearly this depends on the orginal quality of the video file that you upload.
So, here are the specs of Yahoo video as of yesterday:
- 16:9 aspect ratio
- 150 mb uploads
- 700 kpbs transcoding.
