VideoSurf Adds New Video Search By Personality Feature

VideoSurf, a next-generation video search engine that launched this past summer just released an interesting new feature that allows users to search for videos by personality/character.

According to VideoSurf, they use their computer vision search engine to measure and determine which personalities are most visible and popular across the web.  These personalities are then ranked from left to right in order of importance, based on the frequency of their visual appearances within indexed video content and use of other popularity algorithms.

To see the new functionality in action, click on the “Discover by Character” link on the VideoSurf homepage and you will be taken to the new video search feature that allows you to search the following personality/character categories:

• Athletes
• Celebrities
• Comedians
• Models – my favorite
• Musicians
• Newsmakers – Politicians, etc…
