VidCon Gears Up For June 2014 With Extra Speakers, YouTube Celebs

I will be the first to tell you that VidCon is the absolute best place to be if you love online video. Today they announced some additional speakers, YouTube celebrities and industry panels and I could not be more excited to get on a plane and head to the Anaheim Convention Center on June 26th-28th.

Whether you are an industry professional, creator or just a fan, VidCon has something for everyone. Last year I was able to learn all about best practices directly from people who have helped shape the industry like Olga Kay and Molly Templeton, hear from thought provoking industry leaders like Shay Carl, ZeFrank and Jason Calacanis, and share a drink in the lobby with more YouTubers than I have time to mention in this article. That or maybe I just can’t remember what happened in the lobby anymore. Oh yea and did I forget to mention that’s where I met the great folks from reelseo.com, which led to me down the path to writing this article for you in the first place.

If you are a fan of the creators themselves, you can find plenty of Q&A’s, signings, special gatherings and live performances specifically geared towards fans and don’t forget the yearly record breaking game of Ninja, hosted by Philip DeFranco, which I am crossing my fingers happens again in 2014. Although he is a confirmed guest as of this posting, he may be busier than he thinks changing dirty diapers by the time VidCon rolls around.

VidCon Gears Up For June 2014 With Extra Speakers, YouTube Celebs

Last year I watched Sharkzilla chomp down on a Zombie, the SourceFed couch and a number of other items that didn’t stand a chance while I checked out the expo hall. I saw a live interview with DeStorm and the always lovely Shira Lazar from What’s Trending and saw countless overly attached fans treating Laina like they were ones who had a problem.

I’ve already grabbed my ticket and booked my flight to Anaheim, but if you’ve been waiting until the last minute, don’t delay. Standard Early Bird and Super Early Bird passes are already sold out as the event draws near. And just as with Playlist live, I’ll be interviewing your favorite YouTubers for our show “Behind the Reel” and look forward to more than just panels and scheduled entertainment. Coming from Ohio I fear the snow I’m looking at right now will never leave and I’m longing for warm weather and palm trees that are always present at VidCon.

Whether you consider yourself a fan, creator, industry professional or all three, VidCon promises to deliver once again with a truly unforgettable event. If there were one must-attend gathering for online video, this is it.
