So it has come to pass, Verizon will offer TV channels through the Xbox 360 as one of the Xbox LIVE TV channels. However, it seems sort of useless if you're already a subscriber or if you're interested in coughing up a bunch more cash as an existing Xbox 360 owner.

Verizon has stated that next month they will begin offering 26 channels through an app on the Xbox 360 for subscribers. Of course they had to be subscribers because anything would be forward thinking. They have stated they will offer promotional deals at Xbox owners who aren't subscribers as well.

HBO and Cinemax will also be available along with on demand via HBO Go (again, subscription required).

The navigation is said to be Kinect-based so think voice and gestures. Now, wait for it...

If you get the Triple Play pack ($90 a month) before January 21st, they'll give you a year of Xbox LIVE Gold (apparently) and a copy of the 10th anniversary edition of HALO: Combat Evolved.

This is awesome! Although it is only 26 channels and you cannot change the 26 channels you want to view, this is good for college students like myself visiting home for the holidays. I do not have cable in my room and playing xbox/watching dvds gets old quick.

this promo is only for new fios customers...

This is good for college students like myself who aren't home, and don't get most of the channels I had at home. I like it. I can finally watch hgtv, diy, and espn news.
