Crash the Super Bowl with Vimeo and Win Millions
Vimeo and Doritos are teaming up again this year for the Crash the Super Bowl contest. This time the stakes are even higher with a cool $5 million on the line for the top three spots. Last year two brothers took home the $1 Million prize for the best ad based on Doritos. This year they’ve been hired on at Vimeo to help you win your piece of the prize money. With the top three spots on the ad meter making the cut for cash and prizes it’s bound to be the biggest of the Dorito Crash contests.
Star Wars Uncut Aims To Reinvent Online Video
Every once in a while, the Internet does something completely unpredictable and amazing. And I love it. I love when someone pushes the envelope with online video and does something truly unique.
There have been plenty of these trailblazers. The LonelyGirl15 guys were really the first to take the idea of user-generated videos and fake them in a convincing way (granted, fake “reality” is not a unique concept, but uploading fake “real” video diaries to YouTube was… at least at the time).
List of Online Video Platform APIs
As most of you know, an online video platform provides companies with video hosting and delivery services among various other features and functionality that can vary (analytics, ad networks, HD support, etc…). Many of these online video platforms (and there are just too many right now in my opinion but that is another post entirely) offer an API (Application Programming Interface.) An API exposes the features and functions of a platform thus enabling others to seamlessly integrate core video functionality within their own applications.
Video SEO Tips from Aaron Wall of SEOBook
At the SES San Jose 2009 Conference, I had the chance to catch up with someone I have followed for many years in the SEO space, Aaron Wall. For those of you that do not know Aaron, he is the founder of SEOBook.com. SEOBook is a great resource for SEO and SEM training, how-to’s, tools, etc… Aaron started very early on leveraging videos on the website to help explain SEO. In fact, if you are looking to learn a bit about SEO and SEM, there is a great section on their site with free search engine marketing videos.
I asked Aaron to tell us a little bit about SEOBook.com and his experience with video, as well as to give us a few tips for Video SEO.
HD Online – Watch Upload & Share High-Definition Videos
With the ever expanding acceptance of high definition video it’s no wonder that making a list of sites that support it is an ongoing task. So this time around it’s my turn to update you on all the latest and greatest places where you can find, watch, upload and share HD video online.
Blip.tv Adds More Knobs to Dashboard, Expands Distribution Channels
Blip.TV recently decided that they didn’t have enough knobs, switches, levers, buttons and what nots on their dashboard. So they decided to upgrade it and throw in some new things for you to play with. Additionally, since they were doing some work anyway, they decided to expand their distribution options as well. Lucky for you, we have the 411 on what’s all new and improved. Also lucky for you, it doesn’t read like a user’s manual for a new automobile, because that just wouldn’t be any fun at all.
Delve Delves into Your Pocket for Self-Service Video
Delve Networks has opened a new self-service, pay-via-credit-card billing option for their video platform aimed at business users. Now you can go from zero to online video hero in a matter of minutes.
Vimeo Gives You More Features Now
Vimeo just announced one important change to their service and several new features. As they’re one of the big boys I thought it would be appropriate to let you all know.
Upload Videos To Multiple Video Sharing Sites
So, you’ve got some videos made and you want to get them out there as fast and efficiently as possible. That means you probably want some tools to upload them to multiple video sites automatically right? Right! Here’s some of the coolest tools we found that will help you do just that, and in a hurry.
Now, I didn’t say they’d be free and instead of separating them out pay/free I’m just going to give you a good long list of them. I haven’t played with all of them so I can’t vouch for how cool, fast or stable they are. This is more like an informative piece that you can use as a starting point for research on how to get your videos published online with the quickness.
Vimeo is Better Than YouTube For Sharing Video?
Someone recently dropped me a line to tell me that Vimeo was better than YouTube. Me, being the easy-going guy I am, said “OK.” Of course this might have been a clever plot on their part to get me to check it out for one reason or another. Again, I’m easy-going, so I did.
How to Produce “Business-Quality” Online Video on a Small Business Budget

Can businesses today really create sustainable revenue and long-term profit around regularly publishing professional-quality online video, and keep their production costs well below the standards of broadcast-quality? Yes, if they’re willing to be what I call “videoratis” - a video professional and publicist skilled at more than one job that relates to their business and their online community.
Government Agencies Sign with YouTube, Flickr, Vimeo, and Blip
U.S. government agencies can now officially use YouTube , Flickr , Vimeo , and blip.tv , using special service agreements that comply with federal terms and conditions. Today, the General Services Administration (GSA) announced that, after nine months of negotiations, the government has signed agreements with these companies that will allow federal agencies to officially post content to these sites. The GSA is also negotiating special terms and conditions with MySpace and Facebook, and it has already determined that Twitter’s service agreement is in line with federal requirements.
