Interview with Mixpo’s CEO Anupam Gupta – Video Marketing for SMBs
Back in November, we were fortunate to be the media sponsors for The BIA Kelsey Group’s Interactive Local Media Conference where we caught up with several of the leading local online video platforms focused on providing online video marketing and video production services for small and medium sized businesses (SMBs). One of the premiere platform solutions in the space that we have covered previously, is that of Mixpo.
Time for an SMB Video Portal?
One of the big stories from latest comScore Video Metrix press release is the emergence of the TV-show video portal, Hulu. According to Andrew Lipsman, comScore’s Director of Industry Analysis, Hulu’s rise in the charts speakes to a broader trend of marketing growth with professional-level video content. Will these trends also lead to a predicted next phase with video – the small-to-medium (SMB) business space?
SpotMixer Expands Distribution with Google Adwords Video Ads
Just last week, we posted our interview with John Love, CEO of One True Media and their product SpotMixer, which is an online self-service video advertising solution targeted at small and medium sized businesses . John talked with us about the importance of distribution for online video marketing for SMBs. In May of last year, Spotmixer formed a partnership with GoogleTV to syndicate videos as television advertisements.
Spotmixer Interview with John Love – Online Video for SMBs
Back in November, we had the pleasure of being the media sponsor for the Kelsey Group’s ILM:08 (Interactive Local Media) conference. At the conference, we were able to catch up with several online video marketing platforms and online video production services for small and medium sized businesses including Turnhere, MediaMobz, Jivox, Mixpo, WellcomeMat, and several others. One such service is that of OneTrueMedia’s Spotmixer. Originally launched in 2005 as an online consumer video editing platform, SpotMixer was relaunched in May of 2008 to focus on self-service video ad creation for SMBs.
I interviewed John Love, Co-Founder and CEO of OneTrueMedia and discussed online video production and online video marketing for SMBs, in particular with SpotMixer. John talks to us about those categories that Spotmixer sees as early-adopters in the space in terms of SMBs that are gravitating more quickly to online video.
Auction-Style Marketplace for Video Production – Interview with MediaMobz
Back in November, we had the pleasure of being the media sponsor for the Kelsey Group’s ILM:08 (Interactive Local Media) conference. Prior to the conference, I had heard about an interesting new startup called MediaMobz that is focused around creation of an auction-style online marketplace to connect filmmakers with businesses looking for video production resources. What interests me most about this idea is that it is really focused on providing transparency to businesses as to the filmmakers themselves. Often times when working with unfamiliar filmmakers from a network, it is difficult to determine whether they are truly talented filmmakers, or mere amateurs interested in becoming filmmakers. When a small or medium sized business looks to produce custom video assets, usually, they must rely on a talented and experienced filmmaker to walk them through the process, essentially acting as both a filmmaker and director.
Interview with Jivox’s Diaz Nesamoney – Online Video Advertising for SMBs
Back in November, we had the pleasure of being the media sponsor for the Kelsey Group’s ILM:08 (Interactive Local Media) conference. At the conference, there were more online video vendors than ever before, with several in the exibition hall demonstrating their products. We were fortunate to be able to catch up with Diaz Nesamoney, the CEO and Founder of Jivox, for a short on-camera interview.
Interview with Brad Inman of TurnHere – Advice for Filmmakers and More

We caught up with Brad Inman outside of the session for a quick interview. Brad talks to us about the genesis of TurnHere, their recent launch of custom voice-over capabilities, the importance of optimization when it comes to the future of online video marketing for SMBs, and what is in store for the future of TurnHere.
Google Maps Adds New Video Layer = Local Search + Online Video + Mapping
In the past, we’ve often covered news and information about local interactive media and the local search space when it pertains to integration with online video. It is my strong belief that next to mobile, the most logical next step in the evolution of local search platforms is deep integration of local video content. More than a year ago in October of 2007, Google released a feature within Google Earth whereby users could view youtube videos by location. Back in March, Google launched the ability for SMBs and local businesses to add youtube videos to their Google Maps business listing profiles.

SuperForum II: Local Video Explosion - This is the Kelsey Group’s ILM:08 conference session that we were most excited about covering. This is a great panel session with several leaders in local online video marketing solutions.
