Well, in all honesty, I believe that local search + online video is the next wave in terms of online advertising for SMBs. VideoEgg today introduced the first performance-based video advertising for the iPhone -AdFrames for mobile. The new offering enables advertisers to distribute invitation-based, expandable video or rich media ads to iPhone users. Nikon and Ubisoft Canada are among the first brands to leverage AdFrames’ mobile distribution as a measurable way to reach highly engaged consumers.
Video Podcast Advertising in iTunes – New from Blip.tv
Tracked Prerolls, Postrolls and Overlays in iTunes for the First Time. Online television network blip.tv announced today that it is now offering dynamically served, fully interactive, third-party tracked advertising for video podcasts in iTunes. The advertisements are verified using DoubleClick’s industry standard DART platform and support click-through with DoubleClick DART click tracking. The system is designed to be compliant with the IAB Digital Video Advertising Standards.
New Truveo Mobile Video Search Site Launched in Beta
AOL has just announced the launch of a beta version of Truveo mobile video search. In addition to the already released iPhone application, users with other mobile devices will have a chance as well to search Truveo’s vast online video index via WAP (Wireless Application Protocol).
iPhone Currently Handles 1080P High-Definition HD Video
According to Gizmodo, “a friend in the industry” has notified them that the iPhone currently can handle1080P HD video. Clearly with the iPhone screen being the size that it is, HD doesn’t quite make a ton of sense.

Streaming Mobile Video Service Qiks Into Beta
Qik.com has been ‘qiking’ around for some time but now they’ve kicked things into high gear and have opened up for a public beta.
San Mateo, CA based Qik, which is pronounced ‘quick’ strangely enough, are makers of a mobile phone application made to allow users to stream video straight from their mobile phones to the web and then to other mobiles. This could make everyone a mobile journalist or life blogger if they have a video-capable mobile phone. The app is Twitter capable as well.

The 3.5″ 480×320 pixel display makes for a great portable platform for video and with either 8GB or 16GB there is ample space to store a fair amount of it.. So it’s no wonder that applications are popping up for all sorts of interesting things to be done in regards to video. With the powerful processor, large screen and ample storage space the iPhone is a great platform for video, but what about apps?
