Reel Video Discovery and Video SEO Webinar
Last week, I had the privledge of speaking along with Marcien Jenckes, Co-President of Grab Networks, in a free webinar produced by StreamingMedia.com around the topic of Video SEO. Dan Rayburn moderated the event which was titled, “The ‘Reel’ Story on Getting your Online Video Discovered.”
My focus was to provide a high-level overview of video search, video discovery along with a few definitions and tips for Video SEO. Marcien, from Grab Networks, then went into a bit more depth with regard to tactics that can be utilized to garner greater search engine visibility, in particular with regard to automated tactics for those with large video libraries. If you did not have the opportunity to view the webinar, there are a few options available to you.

Announcing the First Ever Online Video Platform Summit
I’m pleased to announce to the ReelSEO community the Online Video Platform Summit, a new two-day single track event held in conjuction with the annual Streaming Media West Conference and Exhibition on November 18-19th in San Jose, Calif. The Online Video Platform Summit was born from the success of this year’s Streaming Media East conference in New York City that had a record attendance of 3,733 attendees, up 5% from the 2008 total and the largest number in the Streaming Media conferences 11 year history.

SES San Jose 2009 Offers New Focus on Social Media & Video
The Search Engines Strategies Conference & Expo (SES for short) has got some big names lined up. It was recently announced that on 11 August, Clickz, Google and YouTube will hold an event (no not for Christophor Rick’s Birthday…though it’s the same day) in conjunction with SES that will be focused entirely on Social Media and Video Strategy.
Kristin Kovner, the Industry Marketing Manager at YouTube, posted the following on the Youtube Biz Blog,
“We’re excited to be a part of this first-time ever event. SES is one of the best places for businesses to learn about search; now that YouTube has millions of searches each day, it’s only fitting that ClickZ and SES are expanding the agenda to include a full day dedicated to video and social media.”
What? That is right, an entire day will be dedicated to Social Media and Video Strategies. Yipee. I’m going.
Creative Media Agencies and Video SEO – CIMA Interview
This Thursday June 18th I’m covering the Chicago Interactive Marketing Association’s (CIMA) event titled “Creative, Technology, Media, and Analytics.” I recently interviewed several of the scheduled panelists, about their research and opinions on the business direction they see online video taking, agencies’ and marketers’ opportunities and challenges with greater client acceptance of online video into their campaign budgets, and clients’ growing interest and importance of SEO in video campaigns.
