CBS Broadcasting Inc. (CBS) is a major US commercial broadcasting television network, which started as a radio network. The name is derived from the initials of the network’s former name, Columbia Broadcasting System. The network is sometimes referred to as the “Eye Network” in reference to the shape of the company’s logo. It has also been called the “Tiffany Network”, which alludes to the perceived high quality of CBS programming during the tenure of its founder William S. Paley (1901–90). It can also refer to some of CBS’s first demonstrations of color television, which were held in a former Tiffany & Co. building in New York City in 1950, thus earning it the name “Color broadcasting system” back when such a feat was innovative.
The network has its origins in United Independent Broadcasters Inc., a collection of 16 radio stations that was bought by William S. Paley in 1928 and renamed the Columbia Broadcasting System. Under Paley’s guidance, CBS would first become one of the largest…
comScore put out their January Video Metrix late on the 15th, after I had already compared the Nielsen January numbers to their December ones. Go figure. Anyway, looking at the report there's not a major difference so instead of going and editing that or re-comparing them, let's just look at them. Plus, it's Friday and ...

comScore put out their Video Metrix for the final month of 2010 last week, I just didn't get around to it until now. They say, that again, 172 million U.S. users watched video online and they averaged 14.6 hours per viewer. We almost topped 6B video ads against 5.2B video viewing sessions. Oh and 14.6 ...
Some might say that 2010 was the year of Internet TV's emergence. Sure, there were a lot of things that went right for it during the year and a couple things that didn't. So let's take a look at the highlights including the new Apple TV, Google TV, Hulu's rapid growth and more.
I know that CES is still a week away, but there have been some big news surrounding Google TV of late that I thought we might compile to demonstrate the hazards of reaching into the unknown and attempting to carve out a niche for a new type of product. As we all know, there have ...
So is it any surprise that retail and eCommerce sites showed massive uptakes last month? Nah, I didn't think so. How about Yahoo! unseating Google as top prop(erty) on the web? Here's a scary fact, the Google Ad network has more unique visitors than the actual Google sites. It reached 93.2% of US Internet users ...
ComScore dropped their monthly Video Metrix on us the other day and I've just been so busy that I couldn't get to it until now. All that research I was doing myself was taking up some time. But here we are, just a couple weeks left in 2010 and online video is as powerful as ...
Break Media teamed up with Advertiser Perceptions Inc. for the first annual Digital Video Advertising Study. There are loads of interesting things in it that I will talk about over the next week or so and this is the first of those. I was reading the executive summary and was shocked to learn that one-third ...
So yeah, remember those studios who said Netflix is growing too fast and they are trying to band together and stop the "evil streaming empire" from continuing its wildfire-like spread? Well apparently, none of them had large black mouse ears because today, Netflix built a better mousetrap and nabbed Disney TV content along with some ...
We talk a lot about online video advertising, but we've never really combined all the options into one big list in the past. So, here you go, one ReelSEO Show Reel of online video advertising networks (in reverse alphabetical order so as not to show any favoritism and be unique).
comScore has once again let loose with the who's who in online video otherwise known as its monthly Video Metrix. The gist is that 175 million U.S. Internet users watched online video content in October for an average of 15.1 hours per viewer. The total U.S. Internet audience engaged in more than 5.4 billion viewing ...
Brrr! It's cold over here (well at night anyway). I do believe there's snow at the top of the local mountain already. That would be Ještěd for those that are interested, on a clear winter day I can see it from my office window, we don't have many of those though. Anyway, what better reason ...
Hulu Plus, the premium service from the video site owned by ABC, NBC, and CBS, is weighing a 50% price cut, according to All Things Digital. The service would presumably remain the same, but cost only $4.95 per month instead of the current $9.95.

Yesterday Google finally opened the curtain on Google TV, giving the world some much-needed detail on what the product is and what it will be able to do. And I was pretty impressed.
