How To Stalk Your Children With Social Media

From time to time, I like to take five minutes out of my day to watch videos from the Onion for a good laugh.  A few months back, I shared with you a video that I found to be quite funny titled, "YouTube Contest Challenges Users To Make A 'Good' Video." Our friend Larry Kless posted the following video, "Facebook, Twitter Revolutionizing How Parents Stalk Their College-Aged Kids," on his blog as the "Web Video of the Week." I liked this one and thought you all might enjoy it as well.

Here is my favorite quote from the video about twitter,

"... because if you are thinking of driving up to your son or daughter's college some night just to watch them thorough the window, you will know if they are around or not.   Or, if your son says he is going to go off snowboarding for the weekend with someone named Jenny, you can send her a message warning her to keep her slut hands off your son unless she wants to find herself in pretty big trouble."

In closing:

"So now the only excuse for not knowing every detail of your child's life is having a life of your own.

Great video and hits close to home! I fully expect my kids (6 and 3) to become teens who hack the GPS chip in their phone, do fake Foursquare or Facebook Places check-ins at the library, and otherwise pull the 21st-century equivalent of the stuff I did at that age.
