SMBs Fall In Love With Free, Custom Online Video

SMBs Fall In Love With Free, Custom Online Video

Great news for SMBs who are looking to increase their online presence with video.  Turnhere just launched a promotional sweepstakes titled "Fall in Love with Video" to give away 100 free, custom-produced video profiles a week (that's 400 total) for the month of September.  In addition, they are awarding the top 4 grand prize winners a $1000 gift card.

Even with the economic downturn this year, the demand for SMB video is still quite strong.  In conjunction with the launch of the "Fall in Love with Video" sweepstakes, Turnhere is celebrating the achievement of a company milestone, namely, the production of their 20,000th SMB video.

At the SES San Jose Conference in August, we had a chance to meet up with Jared Simon of Turnhere to talk to us about the importance of and effectiveness of online video for SMBs.

"The importance of video is magnified because of the ability to distribute it online in various places.  Based on that, a small business can target a really, really effective brand message, more effective than they've ever been able to do through print or through any sort of other medium..  they can target that brand message to exactly want they want to target it."

As for the giveaway, here are some details:

"More and more small businesses are turning to online video as an affordable and effective way of marketing themselves on the Web," said John McWeeny, COO of TurnHere. "The 'Fall in Love with Video' campaign is a great way to introduce small businesses to the power of video, and its proven ability to win new business, connect with their audience, convey their unique story, and differentiate themselves from larger brands."

Each week during the month of September, TurnHere will randomly select 100 winners to receive a free custom video profile shot onsite and produced by a professional filmmaker. In addition, one grand prize winner each week will receive a $1,000 giftcard to use at a leading retailers like Costco, Best Buy, Staples, and Walmart.

Participants can enter via the "Fall in Love with Video" microsite, and can earn additional entries by referring up to five friends.  Contest rules can be found here and updates will be annouced on the TurnHere blog.

Looks like a lot of start ups are trying to provide online video for smbs. jivox.com and jippidy, com to name a few

I concur with your comment 100% Nick, which is why we at Jippidy.com are trying to expand beyond just Jippidy. We see the value of video and believe that it will be a focal point but we also understand the value of being "Social" and how important user generated content is as well. We're not just video.
