Proving that their storage cards can stand up to the pressure of performing when dealing with video, Sandisk has unveiled their "60-second Mobile Phone Video Summer Contest".
The contest began on the 6th of July and runs through the end of August. They will be offering weekly prizes and a final grand prize. You must be 18 to enter, live in the US and have a video-capable mobile phone along with a YouTube account.
There will be 25 weekly prizes and one Grand Prize winner from all previous winners. The Grand Prize is a check for $5,000, while the Weekly Prizes (25): will each include one (1) 16GB SanDisk microSD Memory Card (ARV $108.99), one (1) MobileMate Micro reader (ARV $9.99), and one (1) Contest T-Shirt (ARV $9.99). Total of 125 Weekly Prizes for the duration of the Contest.
First Place Weekly Prize (5): a check for $1,000.
To enter, use a video capable mobile phone to create and submit an original video no longer than 1 minute in length that captures your spontaneous summer moments. "Video Submission" is a YouTube video file submission that follows the technical, creative, and legal requirements. Video Submission(s) may be submitted anytime during any Weekly Open Call For Entries at www.youtube.com/sandisk. Follow instructions to upload Video Submission(s) from your YouTube member account.
Just another way to show the rapid expansion and acceptance of online video as well as a unique way to market both their product and brand through the use of online video. There's no rules that states you must use a SanDisk card but if you win I'm sure you'll tell all your friends how you won the SanDisk contest no? Heck, even I might get involved since I've been shooting a bunch of videos from my Balkans Adventure (back in Montenegro today after spending the week in Albania).
