Reddit, the 'front Page of the Internet' has always enjoyed itself immensely on Black Friday as Redditors keep the world up to date with all the bargains, fights and general mayhem surrounding the kick off to the holiday shopping season. But this year, Reddit are taking a more co-ordinated approach to the coverage with their own livestreaming event to take place on YouTube on Friday 29th November. The Redditgifts Shopping Network will be "12 hours of product demos, comedy, AMAs, and PSAs from nonprofit organizations, not to mention performances from actors and musicians" and will run on Reddit's YouTube Channel.
A spokesman for the company told The Hollywood Reporter that:
We decided to give people a way to experience the holiday chaos without having to venture outside. We hope it will become an annual Thanksgiving tradition, like the Macy’s Parade and the Detroit Lions losing.
