Today I read an interesting post over at SEORoundTable about a video that is appearing within Google universal search results for the search “Rambha.” Rambha is a famous Indian actress and according to the post, the video result has already been reported to Google by Rusty Brick, the author of the post as well as an individual claiming to represent the actress well over 24 hours ago. I have also reported the video. Why are we reporting the result to Google and why am I posting this?

Currently, a search for rambha returns video results in the middle of the page as seen above. While we love universal search, this video result shows a woman depicted to be Rambha in what can only be described as a soft-core porn video. The problem with this isn’t that I particularly hate porn, but the problem is that Google’s SafeSearch feature is not working well in this case. Mine was set to “Use moderate filtering (Filter explicit images only – default behavior).”
As Rusty points out, there are likely many videos reported to Google each day, but videos that end up on the organic SERPS for a search term that is so popular should have a fast track when reported such that reports can be acted on more quickly. Rusty thought that a blog post about it might speed things up a bit, and I decided to join him by adding a post over here. Lets see what develops.
