Netflix has had a fantastic day, with both 'House of Cards' and 'Orange is the New Black' making the nominations for the 2013 Writers Guild of America TV Awards. 'House of Cards', nominated for the Drama Series category, is up against 'Breaking Bad', 'Homeland', 'The Good Wife' and Mad Men'. The original Netflix series became eligible for nomination after the WGA updated their guidelines to allow series that have been produced for initial exhibition in new media.
Both full length film versions of Lars von Trier's much-hyped "Nymphomaniac" will be available on VOD before hitting theatres. Von Trier used this tactic on a previous film and it's an extra revenue stream for the movie from viewers who want to watch this sauce-fest from the comfort of their own living rooms.
