While PC-based video consumption has increased by 157% since 2009, mobile video is no slouch, with a report confirming that global mobile video views accounted for 20% of the overall total in 2013. The same report predicts the figure will double over the next five years. That seems an extraordinarily conservative estimate to us, given the increase of tablet and smartphone ownership – and that's not even taking into account SmartWatches and wearable tech.
Talking of wearables, front-of-house staff with Virgin Atlantic are using Google Glass and Sony SmartWatches to check in passengers as part of a 6 week trial. They will be able to provide travel updates and other info through the devices. Read about these, and other stories from online video land from the past few days. You're welcome.
