Aereo never seems to be out of the news these days and the latest installment sees the Supreme Court announce that it will hear the case brought against them by the major U.S. broadcasters. Aereo's service gives internet users access to over-the-air TV and has faced ferocious opposition from the likes of Fox, CBS, and ABC who claim they are illegally distributing their content. The case, ABC, Inc., v. Aereo, Inc, will be heard in April with a decision due around two months later. Aereo is in favor of the hearing, hoping it will settle the matter once and for all.
Top MCN Fullscreen has agreed to pull videos that have fallen foul of copyright infringements from YouTube. In a deal with the National Music Publishers’ Association, the company will take down videos that appear on any of their managed partner channels that use unlicensed music. Going forward, channels under Fullscreen's wing will have their musical content licensed under YouTube’s direct licenses with music publishers.
