New – Travel Video Sharing Website – RTravel Videos

Rtravel

Rtravel, which is completely free to use, attempts to combine both the Youtube style format of watching and uploading videos, with the social networking format of sites such as Facebook, stated the company, which is not affiliated with any other travel companies, travel agent or travel services.

It enables members to upload and watch travel videos, photos and blogs, as well as to communicate with other members on the site by making friends and sending messages.

The new site is specially constructed and organized for travel videos, with sections of the site organized by different locations and different travel categories such as sightseeing videos, adventure videos and travel services. The emphasis is on user-produced amateur videos that people upload themselves, rather than showing professionally-made travel documentaries.

“Rtravel believes that since it is now much easier and cheaper for people who are traveling to make videos using mobile phones and digital cameras etc, those travelers will chose to make short video clips while on their travels rather than just taking photos. The site is designed to capitalize on this trend,” stated the company.

A section of the Rtravel site is also dedicated to travel services where any travel related companies such as hotels, resorts, travel agents, airlines etc can upload promotional videos, for free promotion on the site.

Right now they are running a contest. The new Rtravel travel video competition is now open. The first travel video prize is $1000, the second prize is $300 and the third prize is $100. Prizes are awarded for the best travel videos uploaded. Go to the competitions page for more information.
