I won't be at the NAB Show, ReelSEO didn't send me (sniff, sniff), but that doesn't mean I'll be totally out of touch with what's going on there...and neither will you thanks to Brightcove who has been tapped by NAB to offer Live and On-Demand Video coverage of the show.
The NAB, National Association of Broadcasters, is holding their annual show April 14-19 in Las Vegas and even if you can't make it, you'll still be able to catch some of what's going on there thanks to Brightcove and their Video Cloud platform which will support NAB Show Live!,
"the video component of NABShow.com, which features live daily updates and on-demand highlights of keynote addresses, conference sessions, exhibits, and interviews from the show."
The Brightcove Video Cloud will allow almost everyone, with almost any connected device to watch content from the 2012 NAB conference thanks to its compatibility with both HTML5 and Flash and automatic device detection means you don't have to worry about doing any configuration or jumping through any hoops.
NAB Show will also produce a live wrap-up of the day’s events, which will be streamed in real-time through Video Cloud. Live encoding takes place through Digital Rapids encoders and the live stream is delivered in HD quality through the Akamai HD Network.
You can check out the NAB Show Live! at 4:30 pm PST starting Sunday, April 15 through Wednesday, April 18, at www.nabshow.com.
This is another great example, like the Tribeca Film Festival, of extending the reach of a physical event out to the masses who can't attend. I would have loved to be at the NAB show this year because I think it would be chocked full of tons of content for me to tell you all about. However, now I can still tell you about it, or at least some of it, even without being there. Sure, it's not quite the same as I can't do any interviews, etc, but it is certainly better than nothing, correct?
