The Most Watched Music Videos Of 2011 - VEVO's Year End List

VEVO's "Most Watched Videos of 2011" list is out, and it's an interesting list. Certainly there are the usual suspects you might expect, like Justin Beiber or Katy Perry, but that doesn't mean there aren't some surprises. Music videos continue to be a major driving force in the growth of online video, and it's worth paying attention to the latest trends and what the most consistently successful artists are doing.
The Most Watched Music Videos Of 2011
I personally would not have guessed that Jennifer Lopez would top the list, but she does. Apparently she's still incredibly popular.
Also, two artists hit the top 10 list twice: Pitbull and LMFAO. Both are bands that had recognizable hit songs this year, but are still probably not anywhere near as well-known as the likes of J-Lo and Beiber. Why are music videos so popular? Are the most watched videos purely a representation of artist popularity, or do the style, quality, and artistry of the videos themselves play a role?
It's also interesting to note that some of these songs came out well before 2011, proving that video in general (and music videos specifically) have longevity.
Here are the most watched music videos of 2011, according to a new release from VEVO:
1 - Jennifer Lopez – On the Floor ft. Pitbull
2 - LMFAO – Party Rock Anthem ft. GoonRock and Lauren Bennett
3 - Justin Beiber – Baby ft. Ludacris
4 - Danza Kudro – Don Omar ft. Lucenzo
5 - Nicki Minaj – Super Bass
6 - Katy Perry – Firework
7 - Pitbull – Give Me Everything ft. Ne-Yo, Afrojack and Nayer
8 - Adele – Rolling in the Deep
9 - Pitbull – Rain Over Me ft. Marc Anthony
10 - LMFAO – Sexy and I Know It
