IFC To Launch Web-Only Video Series Episodes
Again, our predictions for online video in 2008 included a prediction that we would begin to see more and more shows launched exclusively online . Here is the first announcement that follows that prediction:
IFC will launch its first Web-only short-form video series, called "Lunchbox," in March, the company said Monday.
The show, which the network says will be "funny and edgy," will present a different subject each day, including music, politics and film and will air weekdays at noon EST on IFC.com. Although there is currently no set host for the show, IFC said that there may be multiple hosts depending on the subject area for each episode. The show will be exclusive to IFC.com, and details were not available on whether the network will seek outside distribution at a later date.
