So it's Father's day on both sides of the Atlantic (why doesn't that happen with Mother's Day?) and of course, we couldn't let that pass without bringing you some videos that celebrate what it's like to be a dad. I'm surprised how many brands haven't produced something, as it's kind of an easy win for marketers, but we do have a couple of nice examples from Oreo (of course) and from Lego who have both released Father's Day specific content. Happy Father's Day!
First up we have the excellent Rhett and Link with the follow up to their 2013 Mother's Day video. Taking one-upmanship to a ridiculous level they try to out do each other when it comes to having the best dad. I think Rhett may win due to the fact that his "daddy conducted all the surveys used over the past 30 years on the Family Feud."
This one is a sweetie - awesome advice from TV dads. Sage wisdom from Cliff Huxtable, Don Draper (!), Homer Simpson, Peter Griffin and TV daddy of them all, John Walton.
Tech Feed bring us an investigation into the paternity of Joffrey from HBO's Game of Thrones. More interesting than it sounds, honestly.
Of course Disney delivered the goods this year with a highlights reel of some of the animated dads from Finding Nemo, The Lion King, Brave and Mulan. Features the classic line "Don't you take that tone of voice with me young lady."
Yes it's pushing a product but I absolutely love this one from Oreo
Gifts for dads that aren't ties include everything from a GPS that totally agrees he's an awesome driver to fart absorbing underwear, which is actually a thing apparently.
Luke and his dad Darth Vader get to spend the day fishing, riding rollercosters and playing baseball in this little short from Lego. I've never seen Star Wars (don't judge) but this makes me swoon a little.
OK, it's more of a montage than a video but awkward photos of the family are never not funny. Here's a selection of the best of the worst of the dads captured on camera.
