This week on the Reel Web we cover a lot of new stories surrounding SOPA, PIPA, and especially Vimeo's stance on them. We also talk about the importance of having original content and why Hulu, Netflix, and others are pushing so hard to feature original content on their networks. From this we can learn a few things about our own content, as well. took a new direction and is now like Pintrest for video, except better. Follow me on so we can check this out together.

QUESTION: Do you think will become a solid platform for promoting and distributing our videos or do you think it'll wear off?

Tim I just have to take a second to give you and your crew who run this site a big KUDOS! For people like me who are approaching this segment of the net as a business the content is grrrrreat! So, keep it up and again... Good job!

    • Tim Schmoyer

Thanks, Jordan! I totally appreciate that encouragement! We'll keep doing the best we can for people like you! Thanks for taking a minute to write us a cool note like this. :)

Thanks for sharing Tim - Chill seems a curious addition, coming to the party a bit late but seems well implemented and does have a catchy brand name.

    • Tim Schmoyer

Yeah, I agree. It's also not glaringly unique nor does it meet a need that's not currently being met other places. What it does have going for it, though, is that it seems to do video discovery/curation better than anyplace else. We'll have to wait and see if a solid user base gets behind it.

Looks like is tied at the hip to Facebook. Does this mean we can't set up an account there unless we want it to use the same username/avatar as the "personal profile" on FB? That means no Business presence there (i.e. FB Page identity).

    • Tim Schmoyer

Yeah, I gave you a response to this on the YouTube comments, but for the sake of others who might read this, you can get a brand account, but it ties to Twitter and the URL to set it up is currently secret.
