Is your business or brand accessible on mobile phones? If it's not it should be because consumers are increasingly accessing information and content on their cell phones. Google has said about 20 percent of searches on Google.com are NOW related to location, which means we're searching for things to do, eat, visit etc. when we are out and about and we're doing that on our mobile phones. Hey Daisy. Couple of other interesting statistics for you.

At TechCrunch Disrupt, Google CEO Eric Schmidt mentioned that searches via mobile phones on Google doubled last year.

There was that interesting report a few months ago that mentioned iPhone users having more sex than Android users: http://tinyurl.com/32pm2qa

    And on my Droid X there's a Blockbuster app I can't uninstall. :(

Twenty percent is a huge number considering that the mobile world is just taking off.

"Google has said about 20 percent of searches on Google.com are NOW related to location, which means we’re searching for things to do, eat, visit etc. when we are out and about and we’re doing that on our mobile phones. You should make sure your site looks good on a smartphone". Ummm don't know but 20% seems too high for mobile search. I think they are assuming all these types of searches occur on phones… that would be a serious miscalculation.

Yes that is very true… Perhaps the title I picked is a bit misleading… The research is that of all Google searches 20% are locally based searches in nature.. Tangentially strongly related to mobile and indicates a trend – but point well taken. Good to see you on here Terry. We need to catch up soon.
