When it comes to social media, one of the most important things is to follow the viewers to where they are watching content the most. As George Strompolos, CEO of Fullscreen said at VidCon last month, Vine is currently the best place to quickly grow an audience. Brands are catching on to that trend and capitalizing on those views in a big way. These are some of the very best branded Vines of the week.
Best Branded Vines of the Week
Timing is everything with Vines and ESPN timed this one perfectly with the 2014 Home Run Derby. They took Jose Bautista’s 428 ft home run from the derby and gave it the RBI Baseball treatment. For those of you who were not playing original Nintendo games in the 80s, which means they put a cheesy overlay and the home run tune from the classic game on a clip of Jose hitting a dinger. Combining current events with classic games is a win.
#2 Nokia UK
If there is one great way to grab attention on Vine, it’s with cool special effects. To celebrate the launch of the new Nokia Lumia 930, the brand has featured a couple Vines where they display a cool special effect, using the phone as a prop.
#3 Samsung Mobile
What’s special about this Vine isn’t necessarily the content, although it does leave me looking around for a full length video to see what else is going on. The best thing about this Vine is that it demonstrates the importance of working with big names on the platform you are using. They partnered with Jerome Jarre, who has over 6.6M followers on Vine, to make this Vine and it easily got more attention than any of the other brands on this list with nearly 3 million loops.
#4 Sony Electronics
Sony proved yet again why they have their finger on the pulse of social media. They launched a clever Vine on 7 Eleven Day to capitalize on searches related to the day. If there is one universal related to 7 Eleven it’s a Slurpee and their ability to give brain freeze, even to action cameras.
To round out this week’s top Vines is another related to the Home Run Derby. This Vine almost has too much going on, but with baseball, hot dogs and a good cause, it’s hard to miss with this Vine.
