$217M Poured into Web Video Startups for Q1 2008
There is a great article today written by Daisy Whitney for TVWeek.com, titled, “Investors Target Web Video.”
In this article, Daisy talks about how venture capitalists have been pouring money into online video. During 2007, investors paid $461 million dollars into online video company startups, and according to Dow Jones VentureSource, have already poured more than $217 million for the first quarter of 2008.
Daisy talks about how the advertising potential for the internet is well cofumented and that the opportunitiy mirros that of the cable world 20 years ago.
“They insist the Internet video revolution has altered the fundamentals of investing in content.”
